The Brandeis University TRiO Upward Bound Program is a year-round college-preparatory program. Our mission is to assist low-income, first-generation college bound high school students in successful completion of secondary education and prepare them academically and socially for enrollment and completion of higher education. Our program is funded to serve 60 high school students attending Waltham High School.

The Upward Bound Summer program is a 6-week day program hosted on campus at Brandeis University that is meant to simulate the college experience for our students. Summer instructors help achieve this goal by planning and implementing dynamic, engaging, and empowering project-based courses. Each of the courses offered to students culminates in a project that demonstrates their learning presented on the last day of the summer program. Program dates for 2024 are: Monday June 24th to Friday August 2nd (4th of July break: 7/4-7/5).

We are hiring for 11 sections of classes. Classes are held 4 days per week for an hour each day. Compensation is $25 per hour.

Focus on one overarching project that guides the content and skills you want students to learn and apply to be presented on the last day of the summer program
Implement an assessment/evaluation system for determining student success on assignments, culminating projects, class participation, and the course as a whole
Qualifications:
