Department Information
33 bed beautiful Emergency Department with recent $12m complete remodel9 bed RME Unit11 bed Critical Care Unit13 bed Clinical Decision UnitHigh acuity department with 30-35% admission rateLarge air ambulance program - fixed wing jet and helicopter completing 3-4 missions a day, 900-1100 flights annually â flight team is based in ED (Adult, OB and NICU specific flight teams on call)10 hour shifts, approximately 14 shifts per monthGreat staffing model to promote dedicated, safe patient care â currently staffed with 50 hours of physician coverage daily with APCs and hiring to expand to dual physician coverage 24 hours per dayAmple opportunities to participate in medical student and postgraduate medical educationInnovative technology throughout department including:IV pumps programed by charsBedside ultrasound in all trauma baysCT, x-ray and ultrasound live in ED footprint2 way radio real time communicationTele-stroke, tele-neuro servicesDedicated ED communication center for all transports/external transfersExtremely low turnover, our first posted physician opening in over 7 years due to changes in staffing modelWhy we stand out
