This small town is home to one of the key gypsum manufacturing facilities under Georgia-Pacific, a leading name in building products. What sets the Blue Rapids operation apart is its unique underground mine, the only one of its kind in Georgia-Pacific's extensive network of facilities. This underground mine enables the extraction of high-quality gypsum, which is then transformed into essential building materials that contribute to construction projects across the country. The dedication and expertise of the Blue Rapids team play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards and innovation that Georgia-Pacific is known for in the industry.

What You Will Do

Lead the Underground production, and maintenance team to work safely and efficiently in a room and pillar mining environment. Adhere to and assist with Georgia-Pacific and Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) safety standards. Interface with MSHA and other government regulators. Assist in day-to-day planning of the mining operation. Facilitate team development and growth, employee skill development, problem-solving and resolution. Build employee commitment and ownership.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience in an industrial, manufacturing or military environment, OR three (3) or more years of Gypsum manufacturing experience Knowledge of Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations and policies. Ability to interact with and coach hourly employees on mining tactics and operations.

What Will Put You Ahead

Knowledge of Underground Room and Pillar mining with a Continuous Miner and other Electric/Battery Equipment Currently have or able to obtain a Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) Instructor Card. Experience seeking continuous improvement and tracking performance metrics. Three (3) or more years of supervisory experience in an industrial manufacturing or military environment.
