LMS CSOD Consultant (contract)  

Reports To: Manager, Enterprise Training POSITION OVERVIEW  

The Cornerstone on Demand (CSOD) Subject Matter Expert will coach/mentor the Enterprise Training Team through strategic advisory engagements, work closely with Enterprise Training Specialists/LMS Analyst to understand business challenges and providing insightful solutions.  

KNOWLEDGE  

The CSOD consultant is responsible for overall system functionality. This person is a Cornerstone SME that has proven technical understanding of the system from end-to-end, integration to core configurations, to advanced learning administration. Proficient in Cornerstone's organizational unit structure and handling of structures like Divisions, Locations, Positions, and Groups. Deep understanding of utilization metrics, and organization of administrative levels.  

The LMS Consultant will evaluate coach and mentor the Enterprise Training Systems Analyst with optimizing the CSOD LMS System; The following responsibilities and essential duties will be expected of the consultant.  

• Evaluate and address complex business LMS needs and research functionality, coordinate  

demonstrations, and present options to manager and LMS administrators.  

• A system subject matter expert for all lines of business-related tasks in the LMS. Assists in  

troubleshooting any escalated learning administration activities and be a hands-on assistant and  

coach/mentor to the Analyst at all times.  

• Review the quarterly release process and associated activities past, present and future and  

gauge if there is value added to the enterprise. This includes pulling and analyzing Cornerstone  

release notes, coordinating with LMS Analyst, organizing communication / training as needed,  

and updating and running regression validation.  

• Serve as a point of contact for LMS training administrators; train, advise, and respond to inquiries  

as needed.  

• Evaluate system-wide configuration (both core administration and learning administration).  

• Assist with complex learning administration requests (mass adjusting due dates, mass update of  

system security complex group, etc.). Assist the Analyst with bulk data loads through Edge.  

• Assist and guide learning administrators on the validation process for any CSOD activities  

(quarterly releases, implementation of new features, HRIS integration assistance, etc.).  

• Coach/mentor others on maintaining CSOD’s status as a validated system.  

• Assist the LMS Analyst with advanced reporting needs. This includes creation and maintenance  

of the following: custom reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.  

• Analyze new functionality requests from Enterprise Training Specialists to determine Enterprise  

impact. If new functionality is approved, coordinate with Enterprise Training Specialists to  

discuss impact, and come to a resolution as an Enterprise team.  

LMS CSOD Consultant (contract)  

• May be assigned additional responsibilities in support of the Enterprise Training Team.  

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS)  

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience with Cornerstone system administration. CSOD  

Certification – Core CSX Specialists and Learning CSX Specialist and knowledge of Edge tools  

for data migration and integrations.  

• Understanding of project management fundamentals and strong project management skills as it  

relates to core administration and learning administration.  

• Experience with troubleshooting technical issues, identifying and implementing improvements,  

and managing and integrating new technologies and features within the LMS.  

• Ability to balance requests from Training Specialists and translate them into enterprise solutions.
