Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University's mission of Training Champions for Christ. Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a ‎‎‎‎means to a significant educational ‎‎end. They should strive to employ a variety of techniques for the ‎‎‎‎development of good learning ‎‎conditions, view each student as a unique individual, and insofar as it is ‎‎‎‎possible, provide for individual ‎‎differences, abilities, and interests. ‎

Teach courses in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, particularly in the residential Fashion Design program. Teaching responsibilities may include: Design and construction, Textiles, Fashion Illustration Skills, Draping for Apparel Design, and Flat Pattern for Apparel Design. Responsible for class lectures, and grading assignments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reports to Family and Consumer Sciences Dept. Chair.
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English to convey messages and correspond articulately and professionally.
  • Strong organizational skills Advanced computer skills.
  • Classroom management and allocation of teaching resources.
  • Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
  • Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's mission.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Non-supervisory role.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALSEducation and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications: Masters with 18 graduate hours in the Fashion Design discipline or related areas.

All degrees must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Applicants must demonstrate a personal faith commitment to the university's evangelical Christian purpose. Full adherence to the evangelical mission and doctrine of Liberty University. Proven organizational skills and ability to complete assignments timely and accurately with minimal supervision. Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skills. Ability to work well with students, faculty, and staff.
