    Job Description

  • Research, assess, and purchase commodities to meet the company's requirements.
Develop and implement purchasing policies and processes.Negotiate contracts with suppliers, focusing on cost-effectiveness and quality.Analyze market trends, interview vendors, and recommend sources of supply.Evaluate supplier quotations and schedule deliveries.Maintain records and files for efficient purchasing operations.Occasionally provide leadership and mentoring to subordinate staff.

The Successful Applicant

Strong knowledge of purchasing processes and business practices.Ability to use standard principles and concepts to propose effective solutions.Experience in negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.Judgement required to resolve day-to-day purchasing issues.Regular interaction with department supervisors, leads, peers, and external vendors.
