Selection at the GS-9 level, the incumbent will perform the duties of the position, with a reduced level of responsibility and/or difficulty, while receiving on-the-job trainee assignments or other appropriate training.
Works with the Lead Wildlife Biologist in the State Office on issues with local interest groups, Tribal Councils, and other federal agencies on the application of biological decisions, habitat conservation, and laws and regulations.
Identifies the impacts to wildlife habitat and threatened and endangered species by other resource activities.
Designs and implements habitat improvement and restoration projects for the field office in coordination with other programs, other federal agencies, state agency representatives and where possible with nongovernment organizations.
Participates in the implementation of new habitat projects for the District.
Serves as the point of contact for input to the wildlife portion of the field/district’s annual work plan.
