Duties
The VA Midwest Health Care Network advocates for a Whole Health System of care in each of the Medical Centers. This announcement is for a part-time physician, board certified/eligible in Plastic Surgery at the Sioux Falls VA Health Care System. He/she is to ensure the quality and timeliness of the services provided, customer satisfaction, as well as compliance with the standards of accrediting bodies such as the Joint Commission and the Inspector General's Combined Assessment Program. He/she is to ensure appropriate use of the available resources and will be responsible for the state-of-the-art standards of care in Surgical Service. He/she collaborates with other services as appropriate.
Duties:
Assesses the patients in the clinic setting and perform surgery as needed. Provides consultation in the Emergency Department. Provides service consisting of the diagnosis, care and treatment of patients consulted through the section on an inpatient and outpatient basis; and monitors and evaluates patient care. Serves on service level and hospital committees as needed and participate in the facility peer review program. Maintains professional competency, courtesy and flexibility or provide the necessary services of this specialty. Teaches medical students who rotate to the VA Medical Center and responds to inpatient and outpatient consultations within the timeframe requested. Adheres to VISN guidelines for patient care.

Work Schedule: Part-time 8 hours per pay period, Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm (schedule and days to be determined)
