POSITION SUMMARY
Constellis’ Legal Team is looking for a Litigation Paralegal with a passion for working on diverse and challenging investigations and cases, primarily related to EEO, USERRA, wage and hour matters, worker’s compensation, DBA claims, and other matters that span across Constellis’ business operations. You will be responsible assisting with factual investigations, managing all phases of discovery, and working directly with clients, in-house/outside counsel, vendors, regulators, and opposing counsel. You will work with the Legal Team to support their discovery needs by partnering with internal and external stakeholders. You will also need to work independently on multiple projects with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct partnership with in-house attorneys and outside counsel on investigative or litigation strategy and case management, with deep accountability for the overall investigation and discovery response process and general case support needsAssist with preparing case exhibitsAssist in preservation obligations associated with active and anticipated investigations, lawsuits, and other legal requests; identify relevant custodians, data stewards, and repositories; draft, issue, and track compliance with legal hold notices.Conduct legal research and analysis on various topics related to the company’s products, services, and operations as they pertain to your assigned matters and our active docket at largeDirect interaction with clients and executives while assisting in the identification, preservation, collection, review, and production of relevant dataAssist in responding to regulatory agency Civil Investigative Demands and subpoenas, and third-party subpoenasDrive consistent adherence and appropriate evolution of in-house processes, surfacing issues and contributing to solutionsMaintain internal SharePoint sites, tracking logs, databases, and electronic litigation filesCoordinate with support vendorsProvide support and guidance to other departments on legal issues and compliance mattersReview and respond to DBA Discovery including Interrogatories, Requests for Admission and Requests for ProductionProvide personnel files, wage records and other employment documentation for adjusters and defense counselAs required, report Defense Base Act claims to insurance carriers, provide support and assistance to injured personnel, monitor claims, retain records, compile claim data into database, and create quarterly reportsSupport records management requirements as neededOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS
Required/Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s Degree AND 1+ years experience as a Litigation Paralegal in a law firm or in-house litigation department as primary support on significant lawsuitsOR 3+ years experience as a Litigation Paralegal in a law firm or in-house litigation department as primary support on significant lawsuitsMicrosoft platform proficiencyAdditional/Preferred Qualifications
Degree AND 3+ years experience as a Litigation Paralegal in a law firm or in-house litigation department as primary support on significant lawsuits3+ years relevant in-house experienceExperience supporting regulatory investigations and commercial litigation processes, including document review, document productions, and discovery responsesExperience in corporate litigation, including EEO, Wage and Hour, USERRA, and tort claimsExperience with the insurance industry and related skills preferred Experience in managing document production for DBA and worker’s compensation claimsExperience with collective bargaining agreements (CBA)Sound judgment and well-reasoned decision-making skillsAbility to work independently on multiple projects with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, and able to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines and adjust to workload fluctuationsWork in-house within the government contracts space a plusBENEFITS
