Splunk Engineer

Our client, in the health services industry, is seeking a Splunk Engineer to join their team.

Job Title: Splunk Engineer

Location: Columbus, OH

Pay Range: 58-63/hr

What's the Job?

• Growing and improving the enterprise Splunk environment from its early stages to a mature implementation
• Supporting large-scale deployments across multiple AWS regions, with data feeds from multiple on-premise data centers
• Monitoring and maintaining Splunk performance, availability, and capacity
• Managing Splunk administration, including version upgrades, permissions, and audit compliance
• Developing reliable, efficient queries that will feed custom alerts and dashboards
• Tracking work effectively via Agile methods
• Creating and maintaining documentation related to architecture and operational processes for Splunk
• Defining processes for engagement and RACI models

What's Needed?

• 4+ years hands-on experience with distributed Splunk administration
• Experience with Amazon Web Services
• Proficiency in Splunk Processing Language
• Strong technical acumen and understanding of multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix, etc.) and technical platforms (networks, firewalls, storage, virtualization, etc.)
• Experience with Python or Perl
• Exposure to database/big data technologies such as:
  • SQL, MySQL, Oracle
  • No-SQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis)
  • Hadoop
