Urology NP Part

Monsey, United States Community Medical and Dental Care Inc. Full time

A FQHC Look-Alike is seeking a NP with Urology experience for a part time position. Two Thursdays per Month 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The NP will work in collaboratively  with our Urologist, and with a Medical Assistant. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Treatment and Management:

    • Develop and implement treatment plans for a wide range of urologic conditions, working collaboratively with urologists.
    • Prescribe medications for UTIs, bladder control issues, erectile dysfunction, and other urologic concerns.
    • Perform minor in-office procedures such as catheterizations, bladder instillations, and removal of sutures or staples.
    • Educate patients on self-management techniques, including medication adherence, lifestyle modifications (diet, fluid intake), and behavioral therapy for incontinence.
    • Coordinate care with other healthcare providers such as primary care physicians, urologists, and specialists in related fields.

    Patient Education and Counseling:

    • Provide clear and concise explanations about urologic conditions, treatment options, and potential side effects.
    • Educate patients on preventative measures for urologic health, such as maintaining healthy weight, practicing good hygiene, and recognizing signs and symptoms of potential problems.
    • Offer support and address concerns related to sexual health and urinary dysfunction.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records.
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in urological treatment and best practices through continuing education.
    • May assist urologists in surgical procedures (depending on practice setting and state regulations).
    • Participate in research activities or quality improvement initiatives (in some roles).

Experience:

  • 2 or more years working in a hospital setting, preferably within Urology.

Requirements:

  • NY State License
  • NY state Medicaid Provider ID
  • Board Certified
  • DEA
  • BLS
