Summary

Carl Vinson VAMC is seeking Optometrist for the Main Campus in Dublin and the Tifton GA CBOC.

Duties

How applicants will be referred: This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 30, 2024. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications and subsequent cut-off dates are on the 1st of each month. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis until positions are filled.

Provide direct care to patients. Independently diagnose all optometry and ocular problems through external and internal physical evaluation of the eye and surrounding tissues; manage ocular diseases and ocular manifestations of systemic diseases; prescribes topical and systemic medications in the treatment of ophthalmic conditions; consult with ophthalmology, primary care physicians and other specialty clinicians; provide vision and eye care education and counseling to patients; responsible for recording all patient care examinations, assessments, procedures, and care plans in health records; assess, evaluate, diagnose and manage vision disorders utilizing refractive, pharmaceutical, rehabilitative treatment modalities; consult with physicians or other care providers so augment the care of patients in the Hospital, Nursing Home Care Units and Clinics.

Work Schedule: Full Time and Part Time Opportunities may be available. Core Work Schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm
