Asst. eComm Expanded Assortment Merchandiser

This role supports eCommerce expanded assortment growth by managing new assortment approvals and the product set up process. It requires an understanding of strategic priorities and sales volume to maximize product opportunity from Belk’s vendor base. The role requires a self-motivated associate with strong skills in prioritization and communication. This associate is accountable for new product approvals and SKU growth goals.
Essential Functions:
- Source and approve dropship product to support assortment expansion in assigned categories.
- Maximize existing vendor relationships to ensure all appropriate available product is approved and integrated into Belk systems in a timely fashion.
- Support technical processes involved in product set up, inclusive of troubleshooting and escalation to Merchant team.
- Track weekly workflow against SKU goals by category.
- Support digital customer experience by leading site audits and tracking taxonomy needs.
- Support merchant with additional administrative duties such as weekly sales reporting and vendor communications.
Education / Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- Specific work or experience: Corporate buying, retail or sales experience. Demonstrated intermediate-level proficiency using Microsoft Excel
Knowledge / Skills Requirements:
- Performs retail math calculations and utilizes formulas for analysis, pricing, and marketing activities
- Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills to present in a professional manner and to communicate with various levels, departments, and vendors
- Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and work in a team environment
- Capable of shifting to different projects as priorities change
- Demonstrated ability to develop recommendations based on trends and data analysis
