Job Description

Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Pontiac on a full-time basis.


The Role

In this exciting new role you will build and supervise a highly motivated team of individuals that will specialize in the safe and orderly shipping, receiving, crating, uncrating and preliminary testing of Reserve Energy Storage System (RESS) also known as EV battery Packs in support of our RESS root cause team.
 

What You'll Do

  • Builds and maintains good working relationships with employees, union representatives, and management team
  • Monitors safety and good housekeeping standards
  • Participates and provides input during selection of new employees
  • Monitors daily productivity and quality requirements to achieve customer expectations
  • Communicates effectively with employees, leaders, business partners, and customers
  • Cultivates a safety culture, and implements and enforces workplace safety rules and policies
  • Evaluates team performance, and promotes continuous improvement
  • Achieves quality standards by communicating goals and leveraging resources to solve problems
  • Develop and lead the root cause logistics and warehouse team in the safe and efficient shipping, receiving, storage, crating/uncrating, scheduling and root cause prep checks for high voltage EV battery assemblies and related components.
  • Lead the development of the process and future vision of the RESS root cause Phase II warehouse facility defining WMS and efficient process flow.
  • Perform physical duties involving large and heavy high voltage batteries including rigging, movement, shipping, and disposal using forklift and overhead crane equipment.
  • Maintain records on work performed including data collected or analyzed
  • Develop, implement, and sustain workplace organization practices
  • Recommend revisions to process and procedures to improve safety and efficiency.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 years of people leader experience
  • Competence with typical office computer applications, e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management
  • Knowledge of high voltage battery systems and safe work practices
  • Level 1 EV Certification
  • Forklift certification
  • Crane and rigging certification
  • CFR49 Hazardous Material Certified
  • Experience defining/implementing warehouse management system
