The Position

Commercial Supply Manager - Indianapolis

The Opportunity:

Oversees and manages a team supporting the commercial demand and supply for an assigned business unit or customer group within RDC Commercial Supply. Develops and administers integrated supply, order and delivery strategies from forecast through customer consumption. Coordinates activities with global supply chain, implementations, Roche support network, marketing, sales and order fulfillment departments to ensure that customer requirements are met. Responsible for ensuring that product requirements are forecasted accurately in the demand plan and reserves planning. This encompasses planning activities; coordination of product introductions, replacements and sunsetting; reporting activities; process improvement; and problem-solving as issues occur. Interacts with others at various levels involving matters between functional areas, other departments or org units, or customers and the company. Devotes a significant amount of time to leading and managing employees. Provides feedback on employees' work performance and helps ensure resources are aligned to meet current requirements.

Responsible for ensuring allocation strategies are strategic in minimizing customer interruptions. Responsible for achieving the highest possible level of customer service, while managing total costs, including distribution costs, inventory and write-offs.

Responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for ensuring availability of product needed to fulfill the on-time supply of finished goods, while managing total costs, including distribution costs, inventory carrying costs and write-offs.
  • Leads product supply related communications with key stakeholders.
  • Drives the escalation process for supply and demand planning issues.
  • Oversees demand plan based on affiliate and statistical forecasts and ensures plan's accuracy.
  • Create and formulate appropriate goals and metrics to optimize supply to delivery activities to ensure high level of customer service, efficiency and compliance.
  • Provide leadership and business direction to subordinates and peers
  • Coach and counsel team members including developing and communicating performance appraisals and corrective action.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and communication processes throughout RDC and with GSC management to ensure that opportunities/needs/ constraints are made visible
  • Leading the broader RDC management of a key supply KPI like on-time in full delivery (OTIF), distribution costs or forecast accuracy

Who you are:

PL6 - Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4 years related work experience

PL7 - Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4 years related experience
  • 3 years supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to develop and lead a team admired for both its data-driven approach and customer focused results
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the analytical tools used in the supply chain of the future, including the ability to hire for the skills of the future
  • Broad understanding of multiple disciplines within the supply chain: demand planning, supply planning, manufacturing, transportation, warehousing.
  • Sound decision making. Ability to handle ambiguity and thrive under pressure when others struggle.
  • Ability to build relationships cross-functionally and establish yourself as a trusted advisor known for credibility and thoroughness.
  • High-bar for talent. Passionate about finding, developing and retaining great talent.
  • An energy and enthusiasm for your work and your team

This role is graded between PL6 - PL7, however, the final grade will be evaluated on an individual basis
