Function as licensed Psychiatric Practical Nurse in an ambulatory clinic, inpatient ward/ unit responsible for providing direct and indirect nursing care to psychiatric and addiction medicine inpatients.
Prepare and administers prescribed medications via a variety of routes, in accordance with physician’s orders.
Maintain entries into the medical record, documents observations, care and effects of medication.
Assist patient to work out problems vent feelings, express past history.
Observe for thought content, paranoia or suicidal thoughts, inappropriate or behavior changes, reaction to medications.
