Job Description:
The Financial Crimes Legal Fulfillment Paralegal will utilize their extensive knowledge of the law and legal processes to support the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) in managing legal risk. This may involve various legal areas such as subpoena investigation/fulfillment, litigation, contracts, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, complex lending transactions, mergers and acquisitions, securities, trusts, insurance, tax, and labor/employment. The position will require moderate complexity with minimal supervision and will involve emerging as an expert in specific legal skill-sets or specialized practice areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Resolve problems or transactions that require significant professional expertise in applying law, regulation, policies, and guidelines.
- Investigate facts of moderately complex transactions or cases, reviewing and analyzing large volumes of detailed information.
- Conduct legal research and apply results to facts, developing and communicating legal conclusions.
- Utilize appropriate FIU management system.
- Review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Create, utilize, and/or manage processes for large, moderately complex transactions or cases.
- Design, maintain, and/or manage FIU workflow processes, reports, tools, and databases.
- Interact professionally with other departments, internal and external clients, and outside counsel.
- Perform job with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment within established policies and guidelines.
- Maintain continuing legal education requirements and adhere to ethical requirements under the Rules of Professional Conduct.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training; or successful completion of an American Bar Association approved paralegal training program; or certification by a State Bar approved paralegal certification program; or equivalent working knowledge and experience.
- Five years of experience working on moderately complex legal matters in a law firm or corporate law department or equivalent experience.
- Significant understanding of legal concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures.
- Strong analytical thinking skills with the ability to identify and define issues, establish facts, analyze moderately complex information, and develop substantiated conclusions with minimal supervision.
- Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, seeking input from others as needed.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to express moderately complex facts and legal principles clearly and concisely.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to make fact-based recommendations and positively influence diverse teams to achieve desired results.
- Strong relationship management skills with the ability to work successfully and influence others across multiple practice groups and departments.
- Substantial knowledge of legal research and writing methods and practices, with proficiency in online legal research.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple projects that require interaction with multiple attorneys, departments, and internal and external clients.
- Superior organizational and project management skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to change as the position, role, function, and structure of FIU evolves.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.

Preferred:
- Corporate law department experience.
- Experience in the financial services industry.
- Experience in one or more specialized legal practice areas.

All regular full-time employees (working 20 hours or more per week) are eligible for benefits offered by ****.
