The purpose of the class is to provide customer service to office guests and visitors by acting as a receptionist, receiving incoming calls, and greeting visitors and guests. This position also includes producing criminal histories, receiving and distributing mail, and performing data entry to assist support staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or successful completion of the GED; some experience in direct customer service or receptionist work. Some clerical experience preferably in a local government environment
- Must successfully pass a background check related to this position prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
Additional Requirements
- Requires proficiency in the use of the personal computer and software programs to include word processing, database management and spreadsheets. Some knowledge of community organizations, procedures and policies preferred; thorough knowledge of office terminology, procedures, and equipment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and manage multiple tasks concurrently; ability to foster effective working relationships with diverse populations and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers
