Are you a culinary professional looking to provide exceptional leadership at one of the hottest restaurants in Tempe? You have come to the right place The Westin Tempe is seeking an energetic Chef de Cuisine to assist in leading the Terra Tempe team and collaborate with the executive chef.

The Westin Tempe is a home to modern and innovative cuisine led by Executive Chef, Mario Ventura that cleverly combines the bold and rustic flavors of Arizona and the Southwest.

What will you be doing?

Help in the design of the food and drink menu. Produce high quality plates, including both design and taste. Oversee and supervise kitchen staff. Assist with menu planning, inventory, and management of supplies. Ensure that food is top quality and that kitchen is in good condition. Supervises kitchen shift operations and ensures compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards and procedures. Ensures associates understand expectations and parameters. Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with associates and ensures associates do the same within the team. Maintains purchasing, receiving and food storage standards. Ensure the quality of the food items and notify manager if a product does not meet specifications. Ensure production of food in a timely manner. Prepare food so that quality, taste and appearance of food is in accordance with Horseshoe Bay Resort standards. Control proper usage and rotation of food. Ensure food quality and appearance on buffet, and plated food, is in accordance with HSB Resort standards. Address guests’ service needs.

What experience do you need?

Speak with others using clear and professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
