Restaurant Accounting & HR Generalist (105648)#KONA_INDEED

A busy and vibrant restaurant in Kona is seeking an accounting and HR professional to join their team. In this position, you will provide operational support and insights by performing general accounting tasks and acting as the liaison between the current HR and Payroll company.

The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting and HR background in the restaurant industry and be proficient in all related software applications but considering varying experience levels and backgrounds.

Hours Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm (Flexibility available) Location Kailua-Kona, Big Island Pay $65,000 to $70,000 a year Responsibilities
  • Process new vendors and manage vendor profiles in system.
  • Process and manage month end inventory counts.
  • Process semi-weekly payroll, bonuses and tip outs.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports requested by management.
  • Control petty cash at restaurant and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Replenish cash and handle cash deposits to bank.
  • Maintain and reconcile CC receipts.
  • Be a liaison between staff and payroll/HR service provider.
  • Review and submit PTO requests.
  • Maintain all personnel files and payroll information.
  • Assist GM with hiring, onboarding and firing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in business or 5 years of relevant on-the-job work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of QuickBooks experience.
  • Experience with Toast POS, MarketMan, and Shogo is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting. 
  • Ability to pass pre-employment state and federal background check.
