Controller / Senior Accountant

We are currently looking for a full-time Controller / Senior Accountant with construction industry experience to work with our finance team and project managers to assist with financial reporting and job cost accounting.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, annual financial close process
  • Work with project managers on budgets, cost to complete, and owner change orders
  • Prepare and maintain WIP schedule
  • Provide project analysis’
  • Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules
  • Maintain cost and expense schedules and record journal entries
  • Prepare and maintain multiple company and division reports
  • Prepare and maintain intercompany entries
  • Assist with compliance and financial audits
  • Assist with insurance program, renewals, and maintenance
  • Assist with the tracking and maintenance of equipment
  • Reconcile GL accounts

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Construction industry experience
  • General knowledge of sales and use tax, highway use tax and payroll taxes
  • Integrity, good work ethic, dependable, adaptable, cooperative and motivated to take on new responsibilities to increase value within the company
  • Must be able to work with multiply companies and divisions
  • Must be able to research and resolve variances and issues
  • Must be highly organized, detailed orientated, accurate and self-check work
  • Able to work independently with some oversite, and in a team environment
  • Must follow established procedures
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Sage Software a plus
