What to Expect

Tesla is seeking a motivated, experienced, and knowledgeable Material Planner to work in Equipment Spares. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably working with medium to high-volume products.  This position will require a person that is capable of understanding the details of manufacturing processes and business needs.

What You’ll Do
  • Plan, schedule, and manage assigned critical spare parts for various product lines and Equipment
  • Collaboration and close communication with Sustaining Engineering, manufacturing and Maintenance for part identification, required min inventory needs and urgent orders
  • Work closely with Spares Manager and Technicians for physical inventory audits, shipping, receiving and logistic support
  • Work fluidly in a highly cross-functional team environment involving manufacturing and product development teams, as well as Supply Chain Specialists, Manufacturing Engineers, and Logistics personnel
  • Monitor part coverage, track consumption trends and execute/adjust purchase orders as needed based on demand and capacity change. Support of emergency orders outside of normal office hours as needed
  • Identify and negotiate cost-reduction opportunities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce operations cost
  • Generate and publish data-driven metrics of performance of overall work scope
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering and/or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on demand
  • Problem-solving ability in cross-functional and multi-cultural environments
  • Open-minded, collaborative, and team-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic
  • Must have a strong command of the english lanuage, both written and verbal
