Under the direction of the Manufacturing Program Manager, Process Improvement Lead will be responsible for facilitating process improvements within manufacturing and related functions at our Marine Services Division facility in Chesapeake, VA.

Duties & Responsibilities  

⢠Enter non-conformances within the system and manage it through its lifecycle.
⢠Conduct investigations to understand causal factors for a given incident and determine root causes.
⢠Identify corrective and preventive actions and assist in its implementation.
⢠Facilitate implementation of improvement opportunities.
⢠Document process maps and procedures and revise existing documents, as needed.
⢠Educate and train employees about processes and procedures applicable to their specific roles.
⢠Track KPI performance and provide periodic updates.
⢠Tracks actual vs. standard performance data for activities within the shop operations and provides periodic updates.
⢠Deploys basic problem-solving tools and techniques and teaches the same to other employees.
⢠Leads problem-solving sessions with small group teams.

Qualifications  

REQUIRED

⢠High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
⢠Demonstrated willingness to acquire and apply new tools and methodologies.
⢠Strong attention to detail.
⢠Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
⢠Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
⢠Exceptional interpersonal skills.
⢠Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
⢠Ability to adapt to and thrive in a dynamic and evolving work environment.
⢠Must be a U.S. citizen who is not a dual citizen of any other country.

Additional Information  

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is considered SHOP/INDOORS which is characterized as follows:

⢠Primarily indoors during the day and occasionally at night
⢠Frequently working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment
⢠When outdoors, humidity is frequently above 90%
⢠Noise is over 85 decibels.
⢠Light is intense/glare.
⢠Occasional exposure to open fire/flames/sparks
⢠Frequent exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases
⢠Includes exposure to contaminants.
⢠Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32 F degrees) temperatures.
⢠Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
⢠Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to other people
⢠Requires working indoors in non-controlled environmental conditions.
