The Data Engineer will be responsible for the design, build and management of the Client Data Migration pipeline architecture. This position will work in collaboration with functional and technical organizations to develop appropriate data architecture, models and transformation steps needed to manage new client data life cycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop and maintain a data architecture that automates client data collection, storage, transformation and validation to support new client onboarding steps
Optimize the ingestion of complex unstructured, semi-structured and structured data sets from multiple sources
Develop data consumption capabilities to support functional reporting and analytics needs
Apply appropriate data validation operations that incorporate functional rules to produce qualitative data sets
Support functional organizations and assist with data-related queries and issues
Develop, document and maintain the data architecture and data model artifacts
Collaborate with DBAs to coordinate and optimize data storage and consumption needs
Work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement processes, applications, and enhancements.
Assist in creating and updating process maps and performing in gap/trend analysis.
Work in conjunction with the team to help plan and maintain the data strategy and roadmap
Make recommendations to management teams for process improvement, tools and technologies
Manage and track communications with Data Conversion Team, project managers, quality assurance, IT Teams, and product managers.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
Bachelors degree in Business, MIS, Computer Science or related field required
Data Architecture related certifications are preferred
Experience Required:
5+ years working with data architecture, data modeling and developing operational databases
5+ years in the design, development and implementation of relational databases
5+ years in data storage and data integration standards and best practices
Experience Preferred:
Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and/or MySQL
Experience with building and maintaining an Operational Data Store and/or Data Warehouse
Previous experience with data analysis, solution architecture with a data focus and data modeling
Skills/Abilities:
Ability to build and optimize data sets, data pipelines and architectures
Ability to perform root cause analysis on to identify issues and develop appropriate resolutions
Experience with unstructured, semi-structured and structured datasets
Ability to facilitate data transformation, workload management, data structures, dependencies and metadata management
Ability to work independently, with general guidance with respect to overall objectives.
Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences
Ability to assess situations and determine the importance, urgency, and risks
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time requirements
Strong attention to detail
