Position Summary:
Responsible for the directing, coordinating, and overseeing the day-to-day Isleta Golf Club Operations Department’s to include, but is not limited to, customer service, operations, fiscal management, and personnel while promoting and exhibiting World Class Guest Service to all the Isleta Resort and Casino employees and guests. Ensures employee and guest compliance and conforms to all Tribal, Federal, State, Pueblo of Isleta Regulatory, and Isleta Resort and Casino regulations.

All Team Members will display 100% commitment to World Class Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of Guest Service Standards established by the Isleta Resort and Casino.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. Departmental Leadership:
Assists the Director of Golf in the general operation of the facility. Provides instruction on basic golf techniques to assist the guest’s player development, occasionally may be required to participate is golf time with guests to demonstrate and evaluate technique. Coordinates and conducts facility tournaments. Provides basic golf instructions and regulation information to guests to promote and enhance player experience. Assists the Director of Golf with inventory procedures, ordering, receiving, and pricing of merchandise. Assists the Director of Golf with the annual buying plan. Oversees all league activities. Represents the Isleta Golf Club and facility in the Sun Country PGA tournaments, as approved. Assists with tournament agreements and pricing. Ensures an open and welcoming atmosphere that promotes skill enhancement. Greets guests, maintains a friendly and inviting atmosphere, and promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service. Gives basic instruction on all promotions and special events, as requested. Issues complimentaries to VIP guests.Personnel & Administrative Tasks:
Monitors staff performance, behavior, and attendance to ensure adherence to all Isleta Resort and Casino’s SOPs and directs disciplinary action as warranted. Increases the Golf Department’s effectiveness by recruiting, interviewing, selecting, promoting, training, coaching, counseling, assigns and delegates work, disciplining, reassigning, and terminating employees as needed. Schedules and plans shift calendars, communicates departmental and organizational goals, and identifies opportunities for improvement. Ensures departments are properly staffed and motivated to exceed the Isleta Resort and Casino’s goals and objectives. Enforces department standards, objectives, and policy that are in accordance with the Isleta Resort and Casino’s organizational mission. Resolves, both, internal and external guest issues and problems in a timely and professional manner. Organizes staff meetings. Creates and distributes weekly staff schedules. Oversees the staff to assure proper performance. Trains staff in daily procedures. Occasionally may be required to drive a company vehicle on public roads, to and from, the Pueblo properties and/or other destinations, during shift. Occasionally performs duties of subordinates and other duties as need.Accountability and Supervision:
Directly supervises the Assistant Golf Professionals.
Initiates and administers tangible supervisory employment actions and responsibilities in accordance with the Isleta Resort and Casino’s policies, SOPs, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining of employees; promoting, demoting, and reassigning employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and Experience:
Associates Degree preferred. Bachelor Degree in Business or related field, preferred. Must be a PGA Class A Member, required. Must maintain an active PGA classification during the time of employment. Three (3) years Head Golf Professional experience, required. Or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. Must maintain an extive/positive standing PGA classification during the time employment.Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification
Must be able to acquire and maintain Gaming License issued through POIGRA. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation. Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs. Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver’s license. Should not have had a driver’s license revoked or suspended in the last three (3) years prior to the date of the employment application. Acceptability will be determined by Risk Management. Driving records will be checked.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must possess extensive knowledge of the rules of golf and golf etiquette. Must possess thorough knowledge of the principles, procedures, and operations of golf. Must be able to communicate, in writing and verbally, in English and in an effective, informative, and professional manner and be able to convey denials and/or defuse hostile guest situations with ease and tact. Must possess the ability to make sound and accurate decisions. Must be able to accurately and successfully perform several tasks and meet deadlines under high levels of stress and with minimal supervision. Must possess a highly developed sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high integrity and respect for individuals. Must possess and exhibit a positive attitude towards internal and external guests at all times. Must possess strong critical and analytical thinking skills. Must possess excellent planning skills and proactively guide executive management to higher levels of efficiency and profitability. Must possess and demonstrate well-developed interpersonal and communication skills while exhibiting motivational, confidence, intelligence, leadership and teamwork characteristics.Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be able to lift, move, and place 25 pounds. Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.Working Conditions:
Work is generally performed in, both, an outside golf course setting with exposure to extreme weather conditions such as high levels of heat, cold, winds, rain, hail, and snow and an office setting. Occasionally may be required to interact with hostile and/or angry guests.
