Position Summary/Objective:

The Director of Rider Development & Outreach will report to the Head of Competition and have the primary mission of spearheading our Rider Development initiative and recruiting riders both new and existing riders, while promoting a path of development for their future. 

The Director of Rider Development & Outreach, reporting to the Head of Competition, is tasked with spearheading our Rider Development initiative and recruiting riders, both new and existing. This pivotal role is responsible for creating a platform for riders to improve their craft and encouraging new riders to become well versed in the sport, while also maintaining a relationship with the recruitment platform and creating an avenue for PBR Teams coaches to enhance their recruitment opportunities.

To be successful in this role, the Director of Rider Development & Outreach much have a deep understanding of past historical "sports" recruiting methodologies, this knowledge will be crucial for effectively building and nurturing a robust rider base capable of competing at all levels within PBR.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Cultivate opportunities for all levels of riders to improve and refine their skills.
  • Assist in organizing clinics geared toward enhancing rider skills across all levels.
  • Manage the relationship with the PBR EVO website.
  • Develop and expand the curriculum for the Rider Development & Outreach platform.
  • Strategize and allocate budgets for clinics and certification courses.
  • Facilitate communication between PBR Teams coaches and the PBR EVO platform.
  • Maintain an up-to-date roster of bull riders, including members, non-members, and youth.
  • Spearhead the Rider Outreach initiative.
  • Enhance the PBR Certified Coaches Program.
  • Assess the productivity and profitability of clinics for the bull riding community and PBR.
  • Prepare monthly platform estimate spreadsheets.
  • Regularly liaise with SEQL to ensure the smooth functioning and growth of the PBR EVO website and rider database.
  • Assist the PBR Teams league with the distribution of draft declarations and other information via the PBR EVO platform.
  • Analyze PBR events and facilitate effective communication between members and PBR Certified Coaches to foster membership development.
  • Collaborate with PBR International Territories to develop their own developmental programs.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
  • Strong administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects concurrently.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Deep understanding of the sport of Bull Riding.
  • Uphold a positive and professional demeanor consistently.
Education & Formal Training:
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
  • 5 or more years of work related experience with competition recruitment/sports.
  • Past work related experience with Bull Riding/Western Sports a plus.
Working Conditions:
  • Normal office hours Monday-Friday
  • Extensive travel for events â weekends
  • Overtime and weekends may be required
