As an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will perform the following duties:
Develop, implement, and coordinate activities designed to ensure, protect, and restore Information Technology (IT) systems, services, and capabilities. Provide advice and guidance in implementing IT security policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems. Gather and present data for use in reports, position papers, and other documents related to systems assurance, information security, and polices and standards.
Support information technology projects (e.g., web-based application development, hardware and software upgrades, etc.) through project management lifecycle. Apply innovative approaches to complex integration/interoperability problems.
As a technical authority, participate in task forces/project teams to advanced systems software/hardware project efforts. Collaborate and create strategies with internal and external stakeholders for improving operational efficiency, risk management, and contingency planning for mission applications.
Prepare and present both written and oral briefings to executive management and peers on all project related matters. Assist in the implementation and operations of IT initiatives, including new program initiatives, software integration, and web-based platforms meet customer needs.
These duties are described at the full performance level of the ZP-3; the ZP-2 is developmental leading to such performance.
