The Polyurethanes Operations Director is a vital part of the Performance Materials North American Operations Leadership Team. This position exists to manage the safe and efficient operation of the Performance Materials Polyurethanes assets in North America, by providing leadership oversight, with a specific focus on Environmental, Health and Safety, Process Safety Management, Quality, Asset Effectiveness, Operational Excellence, continuous improvement, and employee development.

This role provides oversight to 9 manufacturing plants, and collaborates with marketing and sales, product management, and supply chain to achieve business unit objectives and ensure sustainable profitable growth.

  • Leveraging your extensive manufacturing experience including a demonstrated track record of plant/ operations management, you will ensure that site strategies are aligned with divisional strategies and key production KPI"s for all Polyurethanes facilities.
  • Providing your broad knowledge of maintenance techniques (LEAN, Six Sigma) will be critical as you drive digitalization improvements across and throughout the sites and lead continuous improvements across the network focusing on OPEX savings,  KPI improvement, reducing/eliminating internal rejects, driving out waste, and improving First Time Quality percentage.
  • Being a seasoned people leader, where you will develop highly motivated staff at all levels in the respective organizations who will ensure that all products meet customer agreed specifications, meet delivery schedule demands, and constantly improve product cost position.
  • Working closely with other Performance Materials Operations Leadership Team members to maximize growth and profitability of the business, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the annual operating budgets for Polyurethanes, which includes managing fixed costs through cost center management and review process.
  • Managing the capital planning process for Polyurethanes with your strong business and financial acumen, which includes idea generation, spending, and the execution of projects on time, on scope, on cost; including the prioritization across the PMU network.

  • Possess a Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Have minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience including a demonstrated track record of plant and/or operations management.
  • Have broad technical knowledge of Continuos Improvement Methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, among others.
  • Possess the ability to speak spanish fluently, this would be highly desired.
  • Have International business experience and mindset.
  • Are experienced in cultural change and Operational Change Management organizations.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
