Position Summary:
JP Morgan's US Inflation desk is part of one of the top Interest Rates Trading businesses on Wall Street, and we are currently looking for a qualified candidate to support the trading desk. No prior trading experience is required.
Position Description:
As an Analyst for the US Inflation trading Desk (US Rates Trading), you will be tasked with many responsibilities including trade confirmation and working cross functionally with the sales assistants and the reporting desks. As an Analyst, your operational responsibilities for the desk, which vary but include booking and confirming trades, talking to sales assistants, reporting desk P&L, working on spreadsheets, coding projects, and other related work for desk intelligence. This is a unique opportunity to evolve into a junior trading role, when responsibilities expand as warranted in the first few years of the career path.
Job Responsibilities:
- Developing desk infrastructure for risk and P&L
- Hedging with duration, energy, and swap spreads
- Working with the desk to develop analytics for relative value trading in both cash and derivatives
- Pricing derivatives and proceeds ASW trades along with the desk
- Pricing cash trades as needed for a mix of clients
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Undergraduate degree
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Interest in markets and macro products
- Ability to take direction and constructive feedback, while meeting time sensitive deadlines on a daily basis
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Undergraduate technical/STEM degree
- Basic understanding of interest rate derivatives and cash products
- Familiarity with Excel
