Summary: Under the supervision of the Move Supervisor, the Mover/Driver assists with moving, packing, wrapping, inventory, and transportation of goods in a professional manner. They work collaboratively within an assigned team to deliver a positive and successful relocation while ensuring a positive customer experience.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist/help with the pick-up (loading), transportation and delivery (unloading and placement) of furniture/office equipment in accordance with established standards and procedures
Properly wrap, pad and secure furniture and equipment to prevent property damage
Disassemble & re-assemble furniture and equipment
Routinely lift, move and place heavy items by hand or with material handling equipment such as a hand truck or dolly
Receive instructions from the crew leader and adhere to all company policies and safety rules
Remain responsible for the proper use of all company equipment, packing materials and company vehicles while in transit, at a customer site, returning to RCS or while visiting other facilities for delivery, pickup, etc.
Be courteous, professional and provide quality customer service at all timesListens and resolves customer concerns and notify Supervisor and/or Salesman of any issues
Perform general maintenance, custodial, and trash removal tasks
Ability to safely operate a large moving truck
Keep vehicles clean and properly maintained as assigned /perform routine pre-trip inspections
Completes all necessary paperwork as required by Standard Operating Procedures
Wear a company uniform and maintain a clean and professional appearance while representing the company and delivering service to customers
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Skills/Qualifications:
Valid Driver's License with at least 3 years of driving experience. Must provide DMV driving record with no more than 3 minor or 1 major moving violation in the past 3 years.
Strong record of dependability, reliability, and punctuality.
Positive attitude with strong teamwork skills
Solid communication and customer service skills
Ability to follow routine written and verbal instructions.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
Gracefully handle difficult situations/customers/teammates.
Remain respectful of property and professional spaceAbility to safely operate a large moving truck
Basic understanding of manual and power hand tools
Conditions of Employment:
Must be at least 21 years of age (18 for seasonal employment)
Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable DMV record.
Must submit and pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening – after hire random drug tests performed
Working Conditions/Physical Effort:
Flexibility.
Hours will vary (can be very long) and may include weekends and overnight travel
Stamina to lift heavy items (100+ lbs. or more) repeatedly while climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, walking, etc. without accommodation.
