THIS IS A TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS POSITION

DUTY LOCATION: Theater Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Group (TASMG), Groton, CT

AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION:

Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the Connecticut Army National Guard.
Area 2: All currently employed full-time temporary technician personnel and all current traditional members of the Connecticut Army National Guard.

Duties

This position is located within TASMG Projects and may be extended or terminated at the discretion of the TASMG Commander.

JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to oversee and directs the work of one or more Aircraft Electricians, WG-2892-10 who are assigned to the shop.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Army National Guard.

The major duties include, but are not limited to:

• Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop, which is then completed, by the incumbent and lower graded mechanic(s).
• Performs the full range of shop work.
• Perform in-process, final inspection, and clear status symbols certifying work performed by others in shop.
• Implements safety regulatory requirements.
• Prepares for, and participates in, various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside and outside, in inclement weather, on icy, wet and slippery ramps, aircraft surfaces and work stands. Subject to the dangers from exposure to toxic fumes, high pressure air and fluids, fast actuating metal aircraft surfaces such as landing gears, speed brakes, missile doors, and flaps, and electrical shocks. Subject to the hazards of engine suction, noise, fumes, heat, blast, and rotating propellers and rotors.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Physical efforts involve climbing, stooping, standing, bending, stretching, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions, lifts equipment and components weighing from 20 to 50 pounds, and occasionally lifts and carries items weighing over 50 pounds.
