The Acute Women's Unit is a six bed acute psychiatric unit focused on assisting Women Veterans to return to their "normal life", ensuring that psychosocial, medical, and emotional concerns are addressed. As the Registered Nurse, you will maintain knowledge of current techniques, trends, and professional issues. You will use group process to identify, analyze, and resolve care problems. Duties of the position include but are limited to;
Assesses, plans, and evaluates patient care needs.
Following physician orders.
Administer prescribed medications and monitors vital signs.
Participate in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient.
Reported and documents changes in patient's physiological, behavioral and medical status as they occur.
Collaborate with the treatment team to revise goals, objectives, and interventions appropriate to the changes in patient status.
Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
Instruct and educate patients and families.
Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Implements nursing plan of care for assigned patients and conducts and/or co-leads group therapy sessions for patients.
Orient and mentor new staff members.
Pay:
