Purpose and Scope:
The Construction Management job family is responsible for the organization, direction, supervision and coordination of construction activities on a project site as delineated in the applicable procedures and Site Specific Safety Plan.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for work procedures, scheduling, cost control, project specification conformity, establishment of manpower levels, monitoring and implementation of safety programs, project conformance to national, local and/or company building codes and the maintenance of accurate records.
  • Implements the construction portion of the assigned project through day-to-day direction of all field activities and is responsible for all job site activities.
  • Ensures timely and efficient execution of fieldwork.
  • Acts as the primary customer contact for all construction project field activities.
  • Ensures all construction is in compliance with design specifications, is completed on schedule, adheres to budget, meets accounting requirements and is built to quality standards.
  • Functions as a Project Manager on a direct-hire construction-only project or as the field manager on an engineering/ procurement/construction management project.
  • Under minimal supervision, manages small to medium size projects or a major geographic area on a mega project.
  • Responsible to a member of the Project Managers job family or the Operations Manager job family.
  • Completed work is reviewed for desired results.
  • Establishes field objectives and procedures within company guidelines as necessitated by conditions at the job site.
  • Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.


Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a Construction related discipline or demonstrated combination of equivalent education and experience.

Experience:

8+ years construction and project related experience

Possesses a thorough knowledge of all engineering disciplines, construction technologies and job site management

Journey level position and the first level of Construction Management

Good oral and written communication skills

Working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications

Organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work

Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

Position may require travel

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Outdoor environment with exposure to weather; walking on uneven ground; lifting; carrying; griping; constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents; constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness; must possess planning/organizing skills; must use required personal protective equipment; and must be able to work under deadlines.
