As a RN, you will play an important role in the coordination of resident care management and staff direction by providing direct patient care that meets or exceeds Buckner quality, service, and hospitality standards. Join our team and inspire happiness in the lives of others This position will work 2, 16-hour shifts, on Saturday and Sunday, but will be paid for a full 40 hour work week. What you'll do: * Ensure that the individual health care plan is followed; administer or supervise treatments prescribed by physicians. * Make meaningful rounds of all residents, utilizing health care plans; make rounds with physicians and accurately and timely records visits on charts. * Administer parenteral, intramuscular and subcutaneous injections; performs in-house testing procedures; takes and records vital signs. * Assist in maintaining current health care plans according to a schedule rotation and documenting acute episodes or significant changes in resident status. * Supervise aides in the performance of their duties by monitoring their work; assign aides to residents, specifying break times and special duties to be completed. * Meet with director as needed and participate in staff meetings to keep staff performing at optimum level. * Personally receive or place all calls to physician and follow through with physician's orders timely and accurately. * Supervise (or personally handle) the preparation and administration of prescribed medications accurately. * Order all new medications and refills; gives initial dose of all new medications and chart it timely and accurately. * Order and maintain nursing supplies; monitor condition of medication room, cart and refrigerator. What you'll bring: * High School diploma or GED * Minimum one-year related experience * Current Texas Registered Nurse License * Requires sufficient good health to properly discharge duties. Employees shall not be permitted to work who have infectious disease or skin lesion for the duration of the communicability. * Requires ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, stand and walk over 75% of shift.
