As a CT Technologist , you will operate diagnostic equipment to produce computerized axial tomographic scan (CT) images of internal organs for use by professional personnel. Explains process to patients and interviews for medical history. Enters patient and exam data into x-ray computer system and performs computed scan images. Prepares reports and maintains records of service rendered , using the radiology department computer system to verify billing and quality assurance. Reports all technical problems to the supervisor or senior technologist.

~ Assists Radiologist with interventional procedures such as biopsies and drainages. Schedules patient exams and revises daily schedules to accommodate emergency exams from MedSTAR, ER, and other units.

~ Films CT scan images and archive exams onto tape or optical disk. Assists in the training and orientation of new employees and students. Completes all required information system functions to assure proper patient information, billing, exam, and other necessary functions are correctly entered and maintained .

Associate degree or one to three years formal training in Radiologic Technology.

~ Completed competency-based training in CT.

~1-2 years job related experience.

~ ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) registration.
