QUALIFICATIONS: - Background and training in Poultry Science or Animal Science preferred- Two or more years of relevant experience working with egg-layer flocks preferred- A team player with a desire to build, motivate, and manage effective teams- Effective written and verbal communication skills (bilingual)- Exceptional organization and prioritization skills as it pertains to supervising assigned flocks- Thorough knowledge of the processes, diseases, and medications required for egg-layer flocks- Self-driven with excellent time management skills- Hands-on work ethic that desires to learn and assist with various roles for which he/she will be providing education and assessing processes- Strong customer service aptitude with creative problem-solving abilities- Exhibits personal integrity, maintaining confidentiality in regard to organizational operations JOB DESCRIPTION: Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is assisting an Ag Business in search for a Flock Supervisor. The Flock Supervisor will provide supervision, quality husbandry practice, and veterinarian intervention as needed of cage-free hens at the farm facility. Position will integrate close partnership with farm owner in order to provide best practice for bird health and egg production.Responsibilities:- Inform and advise manager of status and performance of flocks on a daily basis. Maintains accurate records of flock mortality, performance, and overall health.- Determines most efficient and effective means of maintaining optimal bird health as well as producing high quality eggs.- Diagnose and treat disease of hens in accordance with guidelines. Provides follow up of veterinarian interventions to ensure appropriate treatment as well as treatment effectiveness.- Reviews and maintains documentation for standard operating procedures pertaining to bird health and mortality in conjunction with routine audit requirements.- Completes barn maintenance as needed that directly impacts bird health and well being as directed by farm owner. Assist in management of oversight of several poultry houses and facility maintenance as needed.- Supervises and delegates to other employees overseeing flocks regularly. Communicate clearly daily goals and duties as directed by farm owner in order to ensure accuracy and adherence to policies, practices, and procedures that pertain to flock well-being.- Identify training and development of employees overseeing flocks and assist in providing education and orientation as needed.
