The GIS Data Architect will work with Enterprise Application Architects and Enterprise Data Architects, and partner with application Business Leads and Information Stewards. This position will collaborate with GIS Data Authors and consumers, the Center for Shared Solutions (CSS), GIS Administrators, Roads & Highways Specialists, SDE (Spatial Data Engine) Geodatabase Administrators, Information Management Staff, Solution Developers, and other business domain stakeholders, such as Information Managers, Data Stewards, and Business Analysts.
The GIS Data Architect will be the key resource in integrating applications to the ESRI Roads and Highways for GIS data. The duty of this position involves understanding data collected in Roads & Highways databases, the client's SDE environment, and the data needs of the client's applications. This position will assist the annual migration of client applications while working towards new and improvised migration processes. This position will participate in key meetings involving GIS data as an Agency Service Representative, speaking to the GIS needs of consumer applications.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in GIS-IT and enterprise data architecture
A minimum of 2 years of experience integrating GIS systems built on relational databases with other applications, both built in-house and vendor-supplied
Ability to quickly comprehend the GIS needs of applications and develop smart data solutions to deliver data
Experience building model data workflows to extract, transform, and load GIS data using ArcGIS Model Builder; Experience using ESRI Roads and Highways databases and ESRI Versioned/non-Versioned Datasets
Knowledge of Python Programming using ArcPy and ArcGIS Python API
Demonstratable experience building GIS integration capabilities (feature or web service-based) with applications
Knowledge and proven skills in MS SQL Server Spatial and Oracle Spatial
