Medical surgical oncology
Located on the seventh floor of Building A, the 30-bed unit cares for medical surgical oncology patients. Along with specialty oncology and surgical training, nurses on this unit will obtain their chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration certification within one year of hire.
Nurses in this unit must be skilled in helping patients and families navigate all stages of their cancer diagnosis, including end-of-life.
The services of Salem Health Cancer Institute and Salem Health’s Palliative Care team are integrated with this unit to create a holistic approach to the care of oncology patients throughout the entire course of the cancer treatment.

•Interpretation of dysrhythmias
•Management of dysrhythmias
•O2 Protocol
•Non-invasive airway management
•Peripheral line care/management
