We are seeking a Registered Nurse EMS Coordinator for our dynamic Emergency Department. You will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. We are an amazing team that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition like you who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. Responsible for greeting and offloading all EMS arrivals during scheduled shift
Meeting Assumption of Care standards as set by HCA
Recommends and implements courses of action including training and development of relief EMS RNs
Responsible for properly reception of the patient and initiating patient care
Will properly hand off each patient to receiving RN for continuity of care
Functions as a clinical resource for staff members and assist in necessary education of the nursing staff when not offloading EMS
Prepares and ensures equipment in the EMS offload area is functional
Participates in quarterly educational and training events with Hospital staff and EMS agencies
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Critical Care or Emergency Department setting
Preferred prehospital work experience
Nursing Diploma or ASN required; Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
Current NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
HCA Florida Blake Hospital is a 383 bed hospital. We are the only state-designated Level II trauma center in Manatee, Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. Our services include 24-hour emergency care, open-heart surgery, burn care, cancer care, joint replacement and inpatient rehabilitation. We have an onsite day care program, Happy Cubs, a 24 hour employee fitness center and a healthy work environment.
