Ultrasound Technologist

Performs diagnostic and cardiac ultrasound examinations for subsequent evaluation and interpretation by Radiologists and Cardiologists. The Ultrasound Tech must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served in his/her department.He/she must be able to provide care with consideration of developmental status. Perform all ultrasound techniques and examinations. Selects and operates equipment as directed. Maintains working Inventory of supplies. Performs general office duties. Observes patient and equipment and reports unusual occurrences. Cleans and disinfects room and equipment.
Performs quality control and quality assurance as required. Must have certification and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or be registered and certified by the ARRT in another modality (i.e., radiography, MRI, nuclear medicine, etc.) and documented training on the provision of sonography examinations, or completion of the SPI exam in lieu of documented training.
