Job Details

NICU RN for level III NICU; CHOC providers. Provider support includes pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory services, social services, and unit secretary. Dress code is navy scrubs (not provided, must be plain/no logos). 3 years experience required. 1st time travelers with 5+ years experience will be considered. Meditech documentation. SBAR communication.

Job Requirements

Certifications REQUIRED: BLS (AHA only, no HeartCode), NRP, STABLE Skills/experience REQUIRED: NICU III; Neonates (34 weeks); Blood glucose monitoring; insulin administration, phototherapy; Breastfeeding Support/Handling of Breast Milk; Colostomy/Ileostomy care; Feedings (bottle, breast, gavage); Isolation Precautions; Sepsis Work Up; Administration of Blood and Blood Products; Central line blood draw; Central Line/Implanted Line Care; Starting and maintaining IVs; UAC (Umbilical Artery Catheter); UVC (Umbilical Vein Catheter); Neonatal Dosage Calculations; Antibiotics/Antivirals; Anti-Seizure Medications; IV vasopressors; Surfactants; Steroids; Assist with lumbar puncture; Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome; APGAR scoring; Developmental Care; Patient/family teaching; Phlebotomy; Thermoregulation; Bubble CPAP; Endotracheal Tube Suctioning; High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC); High Frequency Ventilation; Management of Chest Tubes; Meconium Aspiration; Oscillators; Oxygen Delivery Systems; Respiratory distress syndrome; Ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP) Skills/Experience preferred: Attend High Risk Deliveries; Community hospital; Level 1 Nursery; Mother/Baby; NICU II; NICU IV; NICU transport; Pediatrics; PICU; Gastroschisis/Omphalocele; Necrotizing Enterocolitis; Placement/Management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes; Post Abdominal Surgery; Arterial line management; Seizure disorders; Therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket); Ventricular Peritoneal (VP) Shunts; ECMO; Inhaled Nitric Oxide; Tracheostomy Management; Vapotherm
