The CIO is a member of the executive team who is responsible for providing overall leadership, strategy and direction for company-wide IT customer support and technology infrastructure to meet the needs of Potawatomi Business Development’s IT operations and its subsidiaries.
The CIO is accountable for technology infrastructure, information security, and overall tech support for ERP and network operations. This individual identifies, evaluates, and reports on information technology trends, needs, and risks.
The CIO must leverage collaboration across key stakeholders to ensure stakeholders and functional groups are aligned on IT services and expectations.
Develops and executes an IT support and services plan that ensures clients and stakeholders have the tools and support needed to support operations in institution-wide education environments.
Oversees the development, governance, and maintenance of IT policies and processes ensuring compliance with the CMMC or ISO27001 requirements.
Establish an IT governance structure that provides support and oversight for priority and resource needs across client university applications.
Provide guidance to stakeholders and leaders in the development of information technology and infrastructure standards and best practices to include the maturity models and roadmaps for continuous product improvement.
Establish quarterly and annual IT service and support goals, define metrics, and program services, and create maturity models for continued support and service improvement.
Assess client institution network and systems requirements and execute strategies and implementations that advance institutional performance and resiliency.
Manage the IT support and services requirements for a diverse range of enterprise software solutions such as CRM, collaboration, and ERP.
Assess and influence the technical feasibility of solutions as well as communicate and advance the IT strategy, metrics, and program services.
Develop and support information technologies in multiple platforms and integrated distributed environments, with responsibility for networks, enterprise applications and security required.
Lead IT Operations, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity teams in the pursuit of superior customer support and the organizational transformation to support enterprise goals.
Actively stay ahead of information security issues and regulatory changes affecting higher education to ensure compliance and reduce institutional risk.
Steer teams in the execution of complex problem resolution, solution design(s) and troubleshooting in the areas of Network and Server Infrastructure, Database and File systems, Customer Support and Data Center and Cloud/SaaS Management.
Ensure the effective service and support management of Data Centers and Cloud/SaaS Partners where standardization of hardware/software solutions and cost containment is critical to establishing best practices for the organization.
Identify potential areas that could be susceptible to cybersecurity breaches and practice preventive methods to make sure company’s data remain secure.
Coordinate/Review/Approve IT Change Management process regarding IT’s Disaster Recovery plans, as it relates to business applications, infrastructure, and recovery.
Oversees the company’s annual IT budget. Manage and reduce operating costs through contract negotiation and service level agreements (SLAs).
Bachelor’s degree and/or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.

15+ years of experience in information technology, with at least 5 years in a significant leadership role managing cross-functional teams including accountability for IT help desk services, enterprise application support and technical governance.
~ Leadership : Deep understanding of executive leadership and initiative, which goes far beyond being a manager. A collaborator, change agent and strategic IT support leader, accustomed to working in dynamic, agile, demanding environment.
~ Giving presentations and disseminating information to all levels of the organization regarding policies and projects requires the ability to engage. Financial Acumen : Relationship building : Business partnerships with other executives and must be dedicated to creating a beneficial balance between enterprise services and showing a dedication to business function.
