Adjunct Faculty – Dental Hygiene Baccalaureate Program Priority Application Date: June 7, 2024, open until filled. Anticipated Start Date: August 26, 2024 POSITION DESCRIPTION Taft College is seeking a pool of qualified candidates with demonstrated instructional skills to join an outstanding team of faculty and staff to provide high quality programs and services for our students. Teaching assignments may be temporary, part-time and/or on-call and may be immediate or as needed (as specified in Education Code 8748.25). We are seeking lecturers with the ability to teach in the above area for inclusion in a pool for the 2024 Fall semester. Note: Taft College is seeking an instructor for an online lecture class, Dental Hygiene (DNTL) 3015, Multicultural Awareness within Healthcare. Course description: Examines the principles of community health, socioeconomic status and personal bias. Focuses on health communication and multicultural topics unique to the dental and medical fields. Builds on knowledge of ethics, basic and dental sciences, and clinical dental hygiene practice. Topics include intercultural communication; health literacy; cultural literacy; interpersonal, small group, electronic, and nonverbal communication; listening; persuasion, caring for limited English proficient people; and working with interpreters. QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The minimum qualifications for this adjunct lecturer pool can be met with a Master’s degree or doctoral degree in Dental Hygiene, Psychology, Sociology, Health, Ethnic Studies, Communications, or a related field. Must show a demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of college students. COMPENSATION $75.49-$88.70 per hour.
