Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Mission Software Systems Engineer/Principal Mission Software Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Avionics Integration Engineering organization. This position may be filled by either a Mission Software Systems Engineer/Principal Mission Software Systems Engineer level based on the qualifications listed.
In this role you will be responsible for preparing detailed software requirements specifications, developing design and interface specifications, and modeling subsystem behavior. The selected candidate will become familiar with governing standards to include UAI Platform-Store ICD, MIL-STD-1553, OMS and MIL-STD-1760.
Software requirements development and modeling
- Development of design documentation and interface control documents
- Mission Software Systems Engineer (T02):
- Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 2 or more years of engineering experience or MS with 0 years or more year of engineering experience or Ph.D. with 0 or more years of engineering experience
- Active in-scope DOD Secret clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) to start
- Programming/ Code Literacy or prior experience working with Software
Principal Mission Software Systems Engineer (T03):
- Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 5 or more years of engineering experience or MS in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) related field with 3 years of engineering experience or PhD in STEM.
- Active in-scope DOD Secret clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR) to start
- Programming/ Code Literacy or prior experience working with Software
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical, Computer Science, Mechanical, or Aerospace, Physics, Mathematics or related technical discipline preferred
- Familiarity with software requirements tools such as DOORS and Rational Rhapsody
- Experience developing software requirements
- Experience working within an Agile environment
- Experience with C/C++/Python
- Current Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
