It is an exciting time to be a nurse at HCA Healthcare Help to advance the practice of nursing and improve positive outcomes for your patients as a (an) RN Wound Care PRN. The Wound Nurse participates in the care and education of the patients within the Outpatient setting. They also have the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with the patients while helping them achieve their fullest protentional for wound healing. The goal of the Wound Nurse is to contribute to the improvement of patient outcomes related to their acute and chronic wounds by using a various array of modalities that the Outpatient Wound Healing Clinic can offer.
Typical duties of a wound care nurse include:
· Assessing, treating, and monitoring patients with wounds and injuries
· negative pressure wound vacs, compression wraps, dressing applications and casting) experience preferred, but will train.
· Working collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to determine if additional treatments or changes in care are required
· Educating patients and caretakers on wound care, infection and injury prevention, and pressure ulcer (bed sore) care
· Creating, updating, and managing care plans
