*POSITION SUMMARY*

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for nuclear medicine patient care and related duties to provide quality care to patients, ranging from neonatal to geriatrics, as dictated by departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

*POSITION SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES*
* *Reports To:* Nuclear Medicine Coordinator, Director of Diagnostic Imaging.
* *Supervises:* None

*POSITION REQUIREMENTS*
* *Minimum Education*: Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology or nuclear medicine required; Associates degree preferred
* *Minimum Work Experience*: 1 year of nuclear medicine experience preferred
* *Required Licenses/Certifications*
* ARRT- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (Nuclear Medicine) upon hire required *or*
* CNMT- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist upon hire required
* CMRT- Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (either by the TDH or TMB) upon hire required and
* BCLS- Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained by quarter is required
* *Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities*
* Must have a good working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and understand the principles of physics. Must possess the knowledge to obtain diagnostic scans and be able to set up and operate equipment safely.

*JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS*

1. Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the HMHD Compliance Plan.

4. Demonstrates proficiency in understanding the materials presented during the corporate integrity and compliance training and education program.

5. Complies with all HIPAA standards.

6. Explains procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to exam

7. Adjusts technique parameters appropriately

8. Processes and manipulates images, analyze image quality, troubleshoots, makes technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed.

9. Utilizes proper downtime procedures for PACS and Cerner

10. Coordinates with Centralized Scheduling and other modalities

11. Patient Care

12. Uses multidisciplinary, team oriented actions

13. Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures

14. Handles patients with IVs , oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and monitor patient during imaging

15. Administers Radioactive isotopes and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines

16. Communicates respectfully with co-workers and other departments

17. Equipment Operation and Maintenance

18. Adjusts technical factors

19. Maintains equipment and room to sanitary standards between patients (injectors, table tops, floors)

20. Exchanges and maintenance of film badges within designated time frames

21. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of quality control and regulatory standards

23. Maintains and enhances technical skills an technology advancement

24. Attends departmental continuing education, meetings, and checks email in a timely manner

25. Manages time and re-prioritizes as necessary

26. Performs any assignment deemed necessary by supervisor

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $32.00 per hour
