American Medical Staffing (AMS) puts you first, and we are currently seeking an LPN to join our corrections medical team in Henrico, VA. This facility is a fast-paced county jail with an average daily census of 627 inmates. The facility provides security training and a 4-week orientation for all clinicians.
Pay Rate: $36 - $39 per hour
Available Shift: Days, 3 shifts per week
As a Licensed Practical Nurse in a correctional care setting, you’ll play a crucial role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, promoting their well-being and rehabilitation. This position works in partnership with a team of correctional staff and allows you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients. Provide basic nursing care to patients under the supervision on RNs or physicians.
Monitoring patients vitals and symptoms—administering medication and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols
Responding to medical emergencies and providing immediate interventions as needed
Documenting all patient interactions, treatments, and observations accurately and timely
Educating patients on self-care techniques and promoting health education within the correctional facility
Correctional care positions can often offer healthcare professionals more independence in how they practice and the ability to grow professionally. AMS works with every provider and facility to ensure their placement is a right fit—and that your questions around the work day, the onsite team, and security are answered well in advance of your start date.
COMPENSATION that is competitive, negotiable, and paid weekly
