  • Department: Associate Travel Program - Surgical Services
  • Schedule: Multiple Shifts available, 40 hours per week
  • Hospital: Multiple Ascension acute care hospitals
  • Location: requires travel to various locations more than 50 miles away from primary residence

This position is a permanent, full time position made up of travel assignments -not a short term option or temporary contract. Rates may vary by location and specialty.

Responsibilities

Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

  • Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
  • Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
  • Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor/track instrument counts throughout procedures.
Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

 

  • Required Credentials: • BLS Provider obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
    (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

 

Education:

 

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree
    required.

 

Work Experience:

 

  • None required.
Additional Preferences

Additional Preferences: 

  • One year of recent experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist
  • Travelers must be willing to travel 50+ miles from permanent residence.
    • Travel positions require travel to multiple locations and could include assignment selections in: Alabama, Illinois, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, New York, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin
