Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using radioactive materials to help diagnose and treat various medical conditions. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment and make a difference in patients' lives.
Duties:
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients for imaging procedures
- Operate specialized imaging equipment such as gamma cameras and PET scanners
- Position patients correctly and ensure their comfort during imaging procedures
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any adverse reactions or complications
- Capture high-quality images of the targeted areas using the appropriate imaging techniques
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret images and provide accurate diagnostic information
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations
- Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on imaging equipment
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, techniques, and equipment
- Proficiency in administering radiopharmaceuticals and operating imaging equipment
- Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and regulations
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, colleagues, and healthcare professionals
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate positioning of patients and capture of high-quality images
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues during imaging procedures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- State licensure or certification as required by the state regulatory agency
- CPR certification
