The Interventional Radiology RN is responsible for providing patient care during minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. The IR Nurse provides critical nursing care to the patient while assisting the Radiologist in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures. Procedures performed include, but are not limited to, Paracentesis, Thoracentesis, Biopsies under CT, US, and MRI guidance, Aspirations, Cardiac CTA, Myelograms, and Port Dye Studies. Closely monitors the patient for complications, administers medications including conscious sedation, and documents the procedure. Provides education to the patient and family members, ensuring that everyone understands the procedure and plan of care. Provides post-procedure monitoring. Follows up with patients by phone after discharge. Per Diem Position ***
Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
